I remember trying not to stare the night that I first met you

And 3 weeks later in the front porch light taking 45 minutes to kiss goodnight

A name and a blessing

A few weeks ago Tyler gave Maddox a beautiful blessing. We had so many friends and family come to support him. It was such a great day. I love my little family!!

My friend does a post each month of her "loves" so I thought that would be a good way to document Maddox's months.

LOVES

You can hold your head up which shows off your long neck that I love to kiss all day

Your smiles are now shared while you're awake and we can get them on demand. But no one can make you smile as much as your Dad. I love watching you two together.

It has only happened a few times but you're asleep and mix a smile with sort of cough noises and it seriously seems like a "laugh". Hilarious!

We were having a moment. I was flooded with love for you, even had a couple tears as I expressed how much I loved you and then mid sentence, you burped right in my face. It was pretty funny .

You are the best little grunt-er. Some babies cry to let Mom know they're awake, you just give me little grunts :)

Your oh so blue eyes. I think they're here to stay.

I love that you love your baths.

Your first plane ride and you did fantastic. You enjoyed the whole thing and refused to sleep, just kept looking at all the many people.

You've started cooing. It is our favorite thing! I swear I've heard you say "mom" :)

HATES

I didn't intend on having hates but this month I had a few.

When you were in the shade 99% of the day but still managed to get a sunburn on your little face. It was so awful, I was so sad but it didn't even phase you (thankfully!)

Then the next week you got a clogged tear duct which resulted in lots of goopy eye. It was the saddest thing when you'd wake from a nap and couldn't open one eye. We are grateful that cleared up in a couple days.

Your 2 month shots. Need I say more? I told you over and over, we were only letting it happen because we loved you so much.

Spit up. I hate spit up.
