So I was really bummed out that we didn't really have anything to blog this week, so we got creative and came up with a killer post!

Weekend Out in the City

We have been busy the last couple weekends with getting settled in so we were excited to go out and explore this weekend. On Friday we went to dinner in Times Square which was fun, then we watched some sweet subway entertainers.

On Saturday we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, it was a beautiful day!View of Manhattan from the bridge

The New York City Waterfalls are four man-made, electrically-powered waterfalls along the harbor, one even rising as high as the Statue of Liberty. They are up until mid October so I'm glad we were able to see this amazing public art project.

Once in Brooklyn we went to Grimaldi's Pizzaria, super famous for their wonderful pizza and painfully long line! But we had to do it. We were in line for an hour and once we were seated we had to share a table with another couple, akward, and I swear the amount of people in that restaurant was not legal. But the food was great!

By this point we were sick of asking people to take our picture so we just took some separate

We had to hurry to get to our ward's annual cake auction. They auction off amazing cakes to earn money for girl's camp. They went for like $30 each. It was fun, we're excited to be making friends in our ward.

The New York Lynch Home

In this post we're going to attempt to give you a virtual tour of our new home. If you feel like this is not sufficient then you'll just have to come tour it in person :)

This is our kitchen, the front door is cut out of this shot but it is just to the right of this picture. Not a ton of storage space but we got quality rather than quantity. I should have taken a picture of our favorite part, the dishwasher!!

We call this our breakfast nook, our little table and chairs fit perfectly into this niche. You can only see the one wall but all 3 sides are windows, we love to watch all of the people in the morning migrating towards the subway. If you are sitting in the chair on the left you get to enjoy the Empire State Building which is lit with different colors all the time.

This is our living room, the kitchen is on the right side, so the whole space is open which we love.

This is the hallway that leads to the master suite, the guest bedroom is on the right and guest bathroom on the left but these doors are all you get to see of them for now :)

At the end of that hallway is our bathroom. I was so excited that we have a round shower curtain rod, I love those kind :)

This is our bedroom, we have a great big window which brings in a lot of light, its really nice. We are grateful to have a nice place to stay in and make our home.

This isn't home (thank heaven) but I thought I'd throw in a picture of my school.

Our Views

We are still working on the apartment but thought we would post some pictures of the beautiful area we live in. We are in Long Island City, right across the East River from Manhattan. We have great views and feel so lucky to be here!

This is our apartment building. The photo was taken from the pier across the street. If you know me, know that I love the water so I am very excited to have water close by. I love to walk out on the pier at sunset holding my honey's hand. Its actually really quiet and beautiful, so romantic. Have we mentioned that we love it here? :)

This is the pool that is on the 9th floor and its view overlooking the river and Manhattan skyline. Unfortunately it has closed down for the winter so I had to borrow these 2 photos from the apartment website.

This is our church, it looks pretty small but it goes like 2 levels under ground.
We had to go in a tunnel to Sunday School. Our ward is incredible. You wouldn't believe how many Aggies are in it! We were having a hard time thinking about going from our married student ward to a family ward but were so greatful that the majority are young couples! We are so greatful for the many blessings that we have received during this transition period and couldn't be more excited for the opportunities that lay ahead of us.

Family, Friends and Packing

Its been a while since my last post and I'm sure you're all anticipating pictures from NY of our new apartment and stuff but you're going to have to wait until our place is "picture ready" give me another week or 2 and it'll hopefully be in good enough shape to show :). So this post is just going to give you a rundown of our time in Utah.

This is Ty and I saying goodbye to our wonderful little basement apartment in Logan. We look happy but it was sad. This was our first place and we loved it.

This is how I felt about our packing day. It was hard work! We packed up all our stuff with the gracious help of our family and loaded it into this lovely budget truck. In which we spent 36 wonderful hours crossing 12 states on our journey to New York City. (I will spare you the agony of the story about how we drove that thing, towing our car through New York, I'm sure you can imagine)

But before we left we spent a few fun days with our families. We love you guys and miss you already! Kira and I cheering on the boys in a mad game of sand volleyball.

Soccer what? This is a volleyball man!
