What Do These Things Have in Common?

I'm running my first race!

Ok so its only a 5k and I'm doing it with a broken foot recover-ee and some 8 year olds so we'll emphasize the "walk" aspect but I am excited nonetheless!

Publicolor 2010

Its Publicolor time again! After all the fun we had last year, Darrin and I didn't hesitate to volunteer to represent Drake Design at this awesome event. Publicolor is a non-profit that improves education in youth by promoting an imaginative use of color in schools. They recruit disadvantaged students to paint the walls of their schools and provide life skills, career exposure workshops, college counseling, summer job placement, tutoring and mentoring.

The event was filled with great designers and famous peeps. A few were: designer Brad Ford, Mayor Bloomberg, Christo, and performances by the West Side Story Cast. I sat at the same table as Christo at dinner, COOL!!

There was a lot of press on this event, it was covered here, here, here and here.

This was our non-purposeful pose of American Gothic. Notice Jamie was voted one of the 10 most colorful New Yorkers!

The theme this year was Color is Energy. We took an "energy of life, love, heartbeat" kind of approach...

Good cause, fun night!

Its Raining Men!

www.madisonsquarepark.org

I was out and about shopping for work the other day but had to take a break for some Shake Shack (obviously!) and had to admire NYC's latest public art exhibition. Artist, Antony Gormley’s Event Horizon consists of 31 life-size body forms of the artist cast in iron and fiberglass.

These are located throughout the sidewalks and rooftops of the Flatiron District. There is even one on a 26th-floor ledge of the Empire State Building.
COOL!!
