A weekend in the South

It was a perfect coincidence that our friends planned a Memphis trip while we were 2 hours away in Little Rock. They were coming for the BYU-Ole Miss game so we were psyched to be able to join them!

We traveled to Mississippi for the game. Dad was so proud to take his boy to his first BYU game. It was awesome seeing how they do football games in the south. The girls all wore sun dresses and wedges (seriously all the girls!) and the guys wore polos (tucked in!) and some even wore ties! I loved the formality (not practicality) of the attire and could see myself being a southern belle in the next life.

Please notice the flat screens and even satellite dishes. These peeps don't mess around when it comes to football.

The game didn't start out hot but BYU pulled it off and snagged the win!

The game was a bit too loud for the poor boy. Especially when Ole Miss would score, they'd erupt and he burst into tears.

Unbelievably, he was able to sneak in a 20 min power nap.

Maddox is modeling a blanket his friend D made. She started on it when she found out I was pregnant. It was her first crochet project and we absolutely love it!

The girls loved him and (after some warming up time) he loved the girls!

It was such a fun weekend and we feel so lucky to have spent it with some of our favorite people!

Cross Country

For the next few posts to make sense, I need to summarize our summer...

When Maddox was 2 weeks old we took off on a 23hr road trip to Tyler, Texas where Tyler would be working. I loved being in Tyler. Partly because it was a nice area with nice people and partly because EVERYTHING was named after my husband the city! There was even an HVAC company called Maddox so I saw their commercials, billboards and trucks ALL over. Pretty weird.

But then after a month in Texas, the office moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. My two favorites about Arkansas were that we got to see my cousins that I haven't seen in YEARS! And our apartments. They rocked.

Each chair in the theater was a MASSAGE chair! Seriously. 

Everyone loved the gym and the tanning bed. I didn't partake of either, gym because...who knows why and tanning bed because...you know why.

We explored downtown a few times. It was pretty cool, right on the river with fun shops, museums and restaurants. 

They showed movies in this amphitheater right on the river, though we never managed to go

The landscaping was beautiful, this tree tunnel was awesome. There was a totally fun play area for kids but Maddox didn't seem to care ;)

Three Months Old

LOVES

We started putting you to bed while you are awake so you can learn to fall asleep by yourself (even though I'd love to rock you to sleep everyday!) and right off you fell asleep in less than 5 minutes. No crying here! woo!

You can sleep through the night. We are talking no mid-night feedings, 9 solid hours. Yes!

We were at the pool and you were sleeping in the shade. A group was having a birthday party and when they all yelled "surprise!" it totally scared you and you let out the saddest cry!

On your 11wk birthday you rolled over! Now I can't put you down without you rolling to your tummy in seconds. I'm so proud of you!

Swimming. We love swimming, you're all smiles!

You have started yelling and squawking. I think you like the shock value you get when you let it out. We LOVE our conversations with you

When you get excited, you wiggle your whole body!

You have started interlocking your fingers and holding one fist in the other, it is so cute!

You don't so much like tummy time but when you're propped on the boppy you could stay all day!

You've started to totally play with toys. You grab them, shake them, cuddle them and suck on them. It is so fun to watch you entertain yourself.
